Our Mission

Empowering Healing through Connection

Our mission is to create a welcoming space where people feel seen, heard, and supported — without judgment or pressure. MindScapes exists to offer real-life therapy that honors the whole person and empowers clients to grow, heal, and move forward with confidence.

The Heart Behind MindScapes

Why MindScapes

MindScapes Counseling & Consulting was created from a simple belief: therapy should feel human.

Too often, mental health care feels rushed, clinical, or disconnected from real life. MindScapes was built to offer something different — a space where people feel welcomed, respected, and supported without pressure or judgment. A space where honesty and compassion can exist alongside clinical skill and ethical care.

Rooted in years of community engagement and mental health experience, MindScapes reflects a deep understanding that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Our work honors the whole person — mind, emotions, relationships, culture, and lived experience — recognizing that each story deserves to be heard with care.

At the heart of MindScapes is a relational approach to therapy. Care here is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative, while still grounded in professional boundaries and evidence-informed practice. We believe trust is built through consistency, transparency, and genuine connection — not quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions.

MindScapes exists to support individuals, families, and communities as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. Whether someone is starting therapy for the first time or returning after a break, the goal remains the same: to offer support that feels safe, honest, and empowering.

This is therapy for real life — rooted in connection, guided by integrity, and shaped by care.

Meet Tasha Goode, MS, PLPC

Tasha Goode is the founder of MindScapes Counseling & Consulting and a provisionally licensed professional counselor providing therapy services in the Kansas City area. Her work is grounded in the belief that people do their best when they feel respected, understood, and supported—not rushed or judged.

Tasha brings a steady, grounded presence into the therapy space. She listens closely, speaks honestly, and helps clients slow down long enough to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface. Sessions are intentional and collaborative, offering both reflection and practical tools that clients can use in real life.

Her style is warm but clear. Tasha balances empathy with thoughtful guidance, helping clients notice patterns, strengthen emotional awareness, and make choices that align with their values. She believes therapy works best when it feels like a partnership—where clients are active participants in their own growth.

With a background in community engagement and mental health support, Tasha understands that healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum. She approaches therapy with cultural awareness, curiosity, and respect for each client’s lived experience. Progress here isn’t about perfection—it’s about building insight, resilience, and confidence at a pace that feels sustainable.

At MindScapes, Tasha offers therapy that feels grounded, supportive, and real—care designed to meet people where they are and help them move forward with clarity and self-trust.

PHILOSOPHY OF CARE

At MindScapes, care is guided by the belief that healing is not about fixing what is “wrong,” but understanding what has been carrying too much for too long. Therapy is viewed as a space for clarity, self-awareness, and steady growth—not pressure, performance, or perfection.

Care here honors autonomy. Clients are encouraged to make choices that align with their values, boundaries, and lived realities. Therapy is not directive or prescriptive; it is a process of exploration, insight, and intentional change shaped by each individual’s needs and readiness.

MindScapes approaches mental health with the understanding that emotions, behaviors, and coping patterns are learned responses—often developed in the context of relationships, environments, and life experiences. Care is grounded in curiosity rather than judgment, with attention given to how past and present experiences influence current challenges.

This philosophy prioritizes pace and sustainability. Growth is supported through consistency, reflection, and practical support that can be integrated into daily life. Progress is measured by increased self-trust, emotional awareness, and the ability to respond—rather than react—to life’s demands.

Above all, care at MindScapes is rooted in respect: respect for the client’s story, their capacity for change, and their right to move forward in ways that feel authentic and manageable.

Licensing & Training

Tasha earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in May 2024, with graduate training focused on clinical counseling, crisis intervention, and evidence-informed care. Her clinical training was completed at a therapy center in Olathe, Kansas, where she provided intensive outpatient group therapy and individual counseling for adolescents and adults. This setting emphasized skills-based and recovery-focused approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), supporting clients in building emotional regulation, coping skills, and resilience.

In addition to outpatient work, Tasha has provided therapy and mental health support in a hospital-based setting at University Health, collaborating with adolescents and their parents to support emotional well-being and coordinated care. These experiences have shaped her ability to work thoughtfully with individuals and families across different stages of life.

Tasha is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) with training in cognitive-behavioral approaches, recovery-oriented care, trauma-informed practices, and mindfulness-based strategies. Her work integrates these approaches to provide thoughtful, whole-person support that is tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.

As a PLPC, Tasha practices under the supervision of a state-approved Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). This ensures ongoing consultation, professional oversight, and ethical, high-quality care as she continues working toward full independent licensure.

Clinical Supervision Disclosure

Tasha Goode, MA, PLPC, practices under professional supervision in accordance with the Missouri Committee for Professional Counselors. Clinical supervision is provided by Christopher Nolan, MS, LPC-S, a Missouri-approved Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. Supervision ensures that services are delivered ethically, responsibly, and in alignment with state licensure requirements and professional standards of care.

Tasha's Therapeutic Approach

Tasha’s approach to therapy is rooted in connection, honesty, and care that feels real. She believes therapy works best when clients feel safe, respected, and understood — not rushed or judged. From the beginning, the focus is on building a genuine therapeutic relationship where trust and collaboration can grow.

Her work is client-centered and flexible, drawing from evidence-informed strategies while honoring each person’s lived experience. Therapy is tailored to your needs, your goals, and your pace — because healing is not one-size-fits-all. Sessions may include thoughtful conversation, practical tools, reflection, and skill-building that support emotional balance and real-life growth.

Tasha’s style is warm but direct. She offers empathy and encouragement while also gently challenging patterns that may be holding you back. Therapy here isn’t about perfection or quick fixes — it’s about understanding yourself more deeply, strengthening resilience, and moving forward in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable.

Above all, Tasha approaches therapy with the belief that growth happens through trust, compassion, and partnership. You don’t have to have all the answers — you just have to be willing to show up.

Starting Therapy, Together

What to Expect During Therapy

Therapy at MindScapes is meant to feel supportive, respectful, and real. From the very first session, the focus is on creating a space where you can be yourself and feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to talk about everything all at once.

Sessions are conversational and collaborative. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what matters most to you right now, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Along the way, you can expect thoughtful questions, practical tools, and space to reflect — all guided by care, honesty, and respect.

Therapy here isn’t about fixing or rushing change. It’s about understanding patterns, building skills, and gaining clarity in a way that feels meaningful and manageable. You’ll be supported in ways that fit your life, your goals, and your pace.

Above all, therapy at MindScapes is a partnership. We work together to support growth, healing, and progress — one step at a time.
